Mr. Forbes has held most senior positions in both the Healthcare and Financial Services sectors. He is recognized as an executive of the highest calibre who headed the Corporate Banking and Corporate Finance Divisions for Citibank in Canada. He built a strong reputation internationally as someone who has negotiated, structured and executed numerous complex deals, including leveraged buyouts, capital restructuring, initial public offerings, public placement of debt and mergers and acquisitions.
He is also known as one of the leaders in the not-for-profit Healthcare sector in Canada and has been included in the Who’s Who of Canada on an annual basis since 2006 including 2024. His outstanding leadership, communications and decision-making skills make him stand out as an executive of the highest caliber able to motivate individuals and teams to their highest level of performance. Analytical and focused, he creates a culture of professionalism and excellence in everything he does, driving organizations in the achievement of their mission and goals.
He served as Vice President at Citi for 24 years in London, New York, Denmark and Canada and several years as an Independent Consultant providing M&A services; loan structuring; strategic planning; He was transferred from London to Canada to set up Corporate Finance in Middle market – Leveraged Buyouts, acquisitions etc. He
negotiated, structured and executed complex deals, including leveraged buyouts, capital restructuring, initial public offerings, public placement of debt and mergers and acquisitions. For 8 years he was CEO of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) in Canada.
In addition Ron served as Chairman of the Board for the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts (2011-2014); Appointed to the Hall of Honour at JDRF in 2007; Member of the Executive for Diabetes Council of Canada (2000-2006); Board Member of Research Canada 2003-2005); Chair/Member of the Committee of Adjustment for North York City Council. Various Community organizations.
He was one of the founding directors of Republix Platform Technologies Inc., a digital marketing company consolidating the industry via a rollup strategy (2019 to 2022) and is currently The Chairman of the Board of Universal Health Group.
Michael L. Blau, a partner at Foley & Lardner LLP, is a prominent health transactional lawyer specializing in healthcare corporate and regulatory matters. Jim, an innovative leader with over 40 years in public accounting, served as RSM's National Practice Leader, Regional, and local market practice managing partner. He retired in August 2021 as the national managing partner for financial services, overseeing a team of 5000 professionals. Jim led RSM International’s Financial Services Group globally and managed the Nebraska business unit since 2006. His primary industry expertise lies in insurance, and he provided services in strategic planning, acquisitions, capital markets, operational improvement, and more across the broader financial services sector. Jim is well-versed in accounting principles, internationally and domestically, qualifying as an Audit Committee financial reporting expert. Active in the community, he received the Distinguished Service to the Profession award from Nebraska CPA peers.
Mr. Umland, a strategic and results-driven executive, brings over 40 years of experience in health system leadership. Starting at Deloitte in 1978, he specialized in healthcare and insurance audits. Joining Ministry Healthcare in 1991, he held key roles, achieving a threefold revenue increase through strategic financial leadership and managing M&A activities. As Senior VP of Finance at Ohio Health, he oversaw traditional finance functions and led a team of 8 VPs. From 2015 until retirement, he served as Divisional CFO at Hospital Sisters Health System, managing a $750 million division, leading strategic planning, and overseeing hospital finances. Post-retirement, he consults and serves on multiple boards, showcasing continued commitment to the industry.

Recognized nationally, he is a reference for revenue cycle operations and Central Business Office establishment. Notably, Hallowell is an expert in health plan market fraud and abuse issues, serving as a contact for reimbursement concerns. Holding an MBA from Tampa College, he has published thought leadership pieces for HFMA, covering topics like organizational transformation and patient accounting automation.
